Published

on

Himalayan Cat

If you have always wanted to adopt a Himalayan cat, then you definitely are making a great choice. But before you look at Himalayan cat price in India and the breed, you must know in detail about the breed. You must know that every breed has a different set of behavior and appearance, and therefore knowledge is imperative while making the decision.

Himalayan breeds are one of the most favorite breeds in the world that can easily blend with the other felines and kids. However, these kitties require a lot of grooming and cuddling from their owners. Therefore if you have decided to bring them home, make sure you have ample time and love to help them stay happy and be playful.

So now that you are about to buy, let us have a look at some of the most common facts about the Himalayan cat breed.

History:

You must not have paid much attention to it, but just to keep you informed about the breed, Siamese and Persian cats are considered their ancestors. This particular breed has got their feature from both breeds – it is calm as Persians and exotic as Siamese. They generally have colored ears and faces, which goes the same as those of the Siamese breeds. They have thick colored coats and combined with blue eyes that add to their charm.

Physical Features:

They generally have a rounded body which makes them look big. With short legs and long coats, they appear totally cuddly. They have strong bones and generally weigh around 7 to 12 pounds. Male breeds are even heavier. They have a thick neck and round face, which grabs the attention directly towards them. If you are looking for the Himalayan cat price, you have to check the amazing collection in Mummy Cat.

Coats:

The elegant coats of the Himalayan cat breed are one of the differentiating features. The prime reason for breeding with the Siamese breeds is to get their color ends. This, as a result, Himalayan cats came out to have amazingly long and healthy luscious coats that are available in cream and white color. They have distinct colors on their nose, ears, and tail, which is the prime reason to grab attention.

They are also available in various other shades. However, not all breeders have all of their distinct shades. Irrespective of the color you choose, you have to make sure that you are taking proper care of this breed to maintain its great and stunning appearance.

Health:

Himalayan cats had some risk of suffering from the polycystic kidney, which seems to be carried from their Persian ancestors. In order to make sure that your kitten does not become prey to this disease, you have to make sure of spaying them. Getting them checked at the earliest can become a lot helpful.

They have a smooth face, and therefore they do not have much dental, eye, or breathing trouble. Unlike the Persians that tend to have some eye and breathing trouble due to the facial structure, Himalayas are away from getting such health issues. If taken proper care of, they can have a lifespan of 5 to 13 years.

Grooming:

As mentioned that they have thick and long coats that make them get the limelight; however, prepping can be a hard task. If you are a new owner, it is definitely going to be a big task for you. They have twofold coats and which is why they need to be brushed on a daily basis. This will make sure to keep their skin and coats in proper health.

If you don’t brush or wash them, it can result in tangling. Therefore make sure you can pay enough time and attention to your little one and then bring them to your home. It might sound intimidating, but doing it every day becomes easy to manage.

What to Wear for Horseback Riding: Essential Tips for Beginners

Published

Horseback Riding

Did you know that some of the biggest equestrian events in the world are held right here in the United States?

Once a major form of transportation, horseback riding is now used exclusively for leisure and athletic competitions in many parts of the world. It’s a great way to learn a new skill, make new friends, and build exercise into your daily routine.

If you’re a beginner, you may be thinking, “I don’t know what to wear for horseback riding!” and  you’ve never been taught about riding, it can be intimidating to figure out what horseback riding gear you need for comfort and safety.

This sounds like you, don’t worry. Keep reading to learn everything you need to know about finding the proper horseback riding gear and equestrian clothing for your next ride.

Heeled Boots

While you may think that sneakers or tennis shoes would be the obvious choice for this kind of physical activity, think again. When your feet are in the stirrups, shoes without heels allow your foot to slide around in the stirrup. Your feet could even get caught in the stirrups if you’re not careful!

No matter what kind of riding you’re doing, heeled boots are a must. Look for a tall boot with a half-inch to one-inch heel. This height of heel is still practical for walking on the grass and on uneven ground. It’s also just enough height to keep your feet from sliding through the front of your stirrups and getting caught.

The style of boot you choose will depend on the kind of riding you’re doing. For casual riding, any kind of heeled boot is fine. The standard for English riding is a Chelsea boot or riding boot. The standard for Western riding is Western or cowboy boots.

No matter what you do, never wear open-toed shoes while riding.

Pants

The pants you choose will also depend on the kind of riding you’re doing. The horseback riding fashion requirements for a casual ride with friends are very different than those for formal shows and competitions. However, there are a few common elements to keep in mind.

Pretty much any kind of long pants can be worn for casual riding. Leggings, jeans, and slacks can all be great options for a short backyard ride with friends. As long as you’re comfortable, any kind of pants will do!

While you can wear shorts if you want, it’s not recommended. Shorts run the risk of chafing your skin at the bottom edge of the shorts or pulling uncomfortably. Not to mention, the leather of the saddle will get warm in the sun and may cause additional discomfort during your ride.

If you’ll be riding frequently, consider investing in riding pants, riding breeches, or riding tights. These garments are sewn specifically for horseback riding and have fewer seams than regular pants at the points in the leg where chafing and saddle sores are most likely to occur.

Undergarments

The biggest risk for chafing occurs in areas where clothing rubs against your skin, so your choice of undergarments can really make or break your riding experience.

Moisture-wicking socks will keep your feet from getting sweaty and your heels from chafing inside your boots. Wear underwear that is comfortable and, if possible, doesn’t have any seams.

If you’re planning on any fast riding, a supportive bra is a must. Your back will thank you later!

Shirts

Just like with pants, the standard protocol for the kind of shirt to wear depends on the kind of riding you’re doing. For casual riding, a shirt and sweatshirt or jacket should be just fine. Competitive riding will likely have specific instructions for you on what kind of shirt to wear.

In either case, avoid loose shirts and opt for clothing that is fitted to your body. It doesn’t have to be tight, but you don’t want loose clothing, strings, bows, or tassels to get tangled in the reins, saddle, or anything else.

If you’ll be riding in the sun for extended periods of time, take sun protection into account when planning your wardrobe. A lightweight shirt with long sleeves will keep you from getting burned without having to roast alive while riding.

For winter rides, wear a vest or a jacket over a long-sleeve shirt to keep your torso warm and protected from the weather. Consider wearing layers so that you can take some of the layers off if your body gets too warm partway through the ride.

Protective Equipment

In addition to your clothes, invest in the proper protective equipment for safe riding.

If you remember nothing else from this section, always remember to wear a helmet when riding. If you’re riding without a helmet and you fall or get thrown from the horse, a head injury can cause trauma, paralysis, or even death.

When riding at a ranch or taking lessons, they should have helmets available for you to use. If not, you can also find inexpensive riding helmets online. Feel free to wear a hat under your helmet in the winter months.

Additionally, wear gloves whenever you can. They’ll keep you from developing blisters from holding the reins, and they’ll also keep your hands from getting cuts and scrapes when you’re trail riding.

Speaking of trail riding, bring bug spray, sunscreen, and a first aid kit with you for any horseback riding on wooded, secluded, or uneven trails.

Use These Tips to Decide What to Wear for Horseback Riding

Now you know everything you need to choose the proper horseback riding clothes and horseback riding shoes. Follow the tips listed above, and you’ll never have to wonder what to wear for horseback riding ever again!

Dinosaur With 500 Teeth

The biggest dinosaur? Dreadnoughtus. The worst dinosaur? T-Rex. A Dinosaur with 500 teeth? Don’t know? Just as we thought. With all the biggest and worst dinosaurs taking the spotlight, it is natural that you wouldn’t know which dinosaur has 500 teeth.

But if this piqued your interest, then you are in the right place because this article is thoroughly dedicated to the a dinosaur with 500 teeth. Let’s get this straight. It is the Nigersaurus that has 500 teeth. Lexically speaking, Nigersaurus signifies “Niger’s Lizard” or “Niger reptile”. And it is also the oldest dinosaur ever found.

Nigersaurus is the oldest dinosaur that ever existed. The being was a 30-foot-long plant-eating dinosaur. Moreover, it is a genus of Diplodocus-like sauropod dinosaur. So which period did it exist in? The answer is the middle Cretaceous period. Hence, it is from 119 to 105 million years ago that nigersaurus existed.

The fossil of the dinosaurs was discovered in the rich fossil vertebrate fauna of the Elrhaz Formation. It was in Gadoufaoua. One can locate the place in the Republic of Niger. Although one curated the fossils of the dinosaurs in early 1976. However, it was in 1999 when those fossils got a name, thus, got an identity.

The archeologists found the whole remaining fossils to finally describe it as what we know as “dinosaurs”. This particular genus includes only one species. The genus is Nigersaurus taqueti. The team led by paleontologist Philippe Taquet found the remains of the nigersaurus. Hence, they named the dinosaurs after French paleontologist Philippe Taquet.

Now, Let Us Talk About The Nigersaurus Skull And More Importantly, The Teeth:

The skull of the Nigersaurus was specific for feeding. It had four large side fenestrae. Hence, the opening of the mouth was very wide. The skull had thin bones as well. That is why it became easy for the species to have 500 teeth. Although the teeth always replaced themselves every 14 days.

The researchers have found after thorough analysis that it had a keratinous sheath. In other words, it had a wide beak-like structure. This structure helps in accommodating the 500 pieces of teeth. Nigersaurus is the only dinosaur that has 500 teeth.

Moreover, it is the only tetrapod animal that has wider jaws than the size of the skull and teeth. The teeth in the upper side of the jaw are actually at least 20 to 30% bigger than the ones in the lower jaw. Under each active tooth, there were nine replacement teeth placed within the jaw in a column.

So, they had 68 columns in the upper jaws. Meanwhile, the lower had 60 columns of teeth. Hence, the total of 500 teeth in their jaw made them the dinosaur with 500 teeth. Although the study has found that the enamel of the teeth of the niger dinosaur was not linear. They were thicker on the outside. Moreover, the inner side was comparatively less thick.

Nigersaurus : A Dinosaur With 500 Teeth Facts:

  • Nigersaurus was a herbivore despite having 500 teeth. Their teeth were made in a specific way that only supported grazing grass.
  • Our favorite dinosaur with 500 teeth has a nickname as well. The nickname is “Mesozoic Cow”. Because they have a wide muzzle and shredding teeth, the anthropologists have recognized them like a lawnmower.
  • Although you may have heard that they had long necks, it was the shortest among the long-necked dinosaurs. Their neck could not even reach 35 feet.

Ending note:

Lastly, A dinosaur with 500 teeth was fairly light-headed. In other words, they had thin cranial bones. Moreover, they were almost opaque.
