Sridevi started her cinema career in the Tamil film industry as a child artist. She gave her first silver screen appearance at the age of 4 in 1967 in the movie Kandan Karunai. After her role as young Muruga in the movie Thunaivan, she marked her debut in the Telugu industry in 1970. The very next year she entered into the Malayalam industry and also was the recipient of Kerala State Film Award for best child artist. A year later he made her entry into Bollywood as well. Sridevi made her Bollywood debut as heroine in 1979 in the film Solva Sawan.
